Simone Ciampanella, from the newspaper "Avvenire", wrote a beautiful article about our LightHole® LED lighting project made in Italy, demonstrating great courtesy. "Today is a beautiful day, but the future will be even brighter," he wrote.
If the article is not legible on our website images, we will be happy to include the full text for our readers.
We thank Simone Ciampanella for the great privilege received.
LightHole®
- It is known to all that the LED is the best solution to reduce the energy impact. Equally known are the problems associated with its lighting. It projects a very concentrated and punctiform light and remains annoying to the direct gaze, causing momentary blindness. "LightHole®" has solved these difficulties, overcoming the limitations of the solutions already on the market which, are able to filter the light with opaque surfaces, but greatly reduce the LED brightness efficiency.
«Looking for paths not traveled by others is very exciting, but difficulties are not lacking. It is the attitude that helps you. Never get discouraged. You must know when to stop in front of obstacles. You must understand what was wrong, find the solution, and continue on your way. For me, the greatest strength is perseverance." Claudio Gioserio has put all this enthusiasm and determination, but above all, intuition for innovation, technical competence, and sensitivity for design to create the "light sculptures" of LightHole®.
The project was born by experimenting with the use of a plastic material of small thickness with high transparency, used as if it were an optical fiber for the transport of light energy. Holes were made on the plates produced: thanks to internal refractions, the LED light is pleasant and diffused evenly. The system, patented in 2016, is able to project almost 100% of the light emitted by the LEDs uniformly. The research is constant and ongoing. LightHole® imagines new original design shapes, combining them with "smart home" technologies. Its innovation is not so much in the type of raw materials used, but in the ability to merge them to optimize their properties and shape them into a beautiful form that characterizes the furnishings of an environment with its light. The result of years of research and study that have obtained significant support, Claudio says: "To obtain results, it is necessary to have state-of-the-art people and laboratories at your disposal, and if you do not have resources, as in the case of a small company, the active spaces of Lazio Innova become fundamental to develop inventiveness.".
With its flexible technology, the inventor has opened up a vast field of opportunities for the creation of design models capable of saving energy.
The latest project inspired by a "wave" of the sea was presented at the "Aspettando Maker Faire" competition organized by Lazio Innova and Regione Lazio and won the first prize at the regional selection in the space dedicated to "Maker Faire the European Edition" 2019.
"The future will be brighter," Claudio smiles, revealing the ethical principle underlying his creations: "If we want to safeguard our planet, environmental sensitivity must become a rooted and deep element in all of us. Energy savings are one of the components for environmental protection.".
