Simone Ciampanella of the newspaper "Avvenire", with great courtesy, wrote a beautiful article on the LightHole® LED lighting project made in Italy. "Today is a beautiful day but the future will be even brighter"
We insert the whole article if it is not legible in the images on the website.
We thank Simone Ciampanella for the great privilege received.
LightHole®
- It is known to all that the LED is the best solution to reduce the energy impact. Equally known are the problems associated with its lighting. It projects a very concentrated and punctiform light and remains annoying to the direct gaze, causing momentary blindness. "LightHole®" has solved these difficulties, overcoming the limitations of the solutions already on the market which, are able to filter the light with opaque surfaces, but greatly reduce the LED brightness efficiency.
«Looking for paths did not travel by others is very exciting but the difficulties are not lacking. It is the attitude that helps you. Never get discouraged. You must know when to stop you in front of obstacles. You must understand what it was wrong, find the solution, and go on your way. For me the greatest strength is perseverance ». Claudio Gioserio has put all this enthusiasm and determination, but above all intuition for innovation, technical competence, and sensitivity for design in order to create the "light sculptures" of LightHole®.
The project was born by experimenting with the use of plastic material of small thickness with very high transparency, used as an optical fiber for the transport of light energy. Holes have been drilled on the slabs: thanks to the internal refractions, the LED light is diffused with pleasant and homogeneity. The system, patented in 2016, manages to project almost 100% of the LED light emitted in a uniform manner. The research is constant and continuous. LightHole® imagines new original design forms, combining them with "smart home" technologies. His is an innovation not so much in the type of raw materials used but in the ability to blend them to optimize their properties and shape them in a beautiful shape that with its light characterizes the decor of an environment. The result of years of research and study that has obtained important support, says Claudio: «In order to obtain results, it is necessary to have cutting-edge people and laboratories available and if you do not have many resources, as in the case of a small company, active spaces of Lazio Innova become fundamental to develop inventiveness ».
With his flexible technology, the inventor has opened up an endless field of opportunities for the creation of design lamp models, capable of energy saving.
The latest project inspired by a “wave” (Italian name "Onda") of the sea was presented in the "Waiting for Maker Faire" contest organized by Lazio Innova and the Lazio Region (regional government) and it won the first prize at the regional selection in the space dedicated to the "Maker Faire the European Edition" 2019.
«The future will be brighter», Claudio smiles and reveals the ethical principle underlying his creations: «If we want to safeguard our planet, environmental sensitivity must become a rooted and profound element in all of us. Energy saving is one of the components for environmental protection".
